Eugénie Trip, Venice

We recently had our 7th annual surprise “week-end à deux”. We take turns to organize this each year. It can be anywhere, from an hour drive from home to a flight away, and the one in charge is also responsible for lending our 3 boys out!
April 2014, was Superman’s turn: he took me to Venice, where I had never been.
Loved it. Will come back!

At the end of the tiniest street a small square and our B&B. Very nice!

Next year is my turn… I have 1 destination in mind, but will look for others as there is no direct flight from Lyon to this one…
What would be your dream destination for a weekend à deux?

  1. How lovely! Venice is magical, isn’t it? Your images bring back lots of happy memories, so thank you for sharing. At the moment, our favorite weekend get-away destination is a quiet, secluded stretch of untamed coast – with few people but lots of wildlife. We take long walks on the beach, picnic, listen to the crashing waves and watch the harbor seals and cormorants. It’s our happy place.

    • Wildlife, seals and the sound of waves.. it sounds perfect! This is in California? This state is one of my dream destinations, really. I was lucky to live in Ontario for a year (south of Windsor), and in Virginia as a student. Since then I’ve crossed the Atlantic on several occasions for vacations or work, but never (yet) California.Good to have some dreams in store…

      • Yes, northern California. If you ever visit, be sure to drive coastal Highway 1 between Monterey and Half Moon Bay. This windswept rugged stretch of coastline never fails to make me smile.
